Forest Of Desire
In the forest of desire
We all burn like a fire
And we thirst for some water
But there is none in close quarter
You wish for it to rain
But the clouds show disdain
It’s a strange kind of fire
There’s no flames only heat
It starts in your head
And works down your feet
It will burn you to the root
And through your fireproof suit
All the wealth you acquire
And when it goes to the wire
Is when it will transpire
You don’t have what you require
With the blisters on your feet
As you walk down the street
People come to inquire
If you were in the forest of desire
Don’t tell them “No Sire”
Cause they’ll call you a liar
They have all been there
In this Life and Prior
There is no evergreen attire
The heat gets hotter
As you keep getting higher
You want to cry
But the tears get drier
Every gun in the street
Is set up for hire
Only hollow promises
Of a broken reservoir
When it is time to retire
It all seems like a satire
There is nothing left to burn
When they light up your pyre
In the forest of desire
We all burn like a fire
