Memory’s Lane

As havoc wreaks

In wind’s play

Another storm

Brews today

While the dust

From one before

Still hangs in air

Like nature’s decor

Voices faint and mellow

Whisper to heart’s trouble

As gushing winds

Rearrange the rubble

And the once still

Waters over calm oceans

Frenzied and tormented

With mixed emotions

In the midst of

My thoughts frame

On mind’s paper

Blood pens to claim

The dark fears

Of lost caravans

The piers of tears

Bridging lifespans

The luscious valleys

Between rolling-hills

The romantic alleys

With steaming thrills

Of all things that

Did us wrong

Of all problems that

Kept us long

In memory’s lane

We may feign

But never are we

In the same river again

And unto dust

Go we must

My only hope

May love remain
