Going Home

I have woken up

To weeping sorrow

And have slept with

Many a gloomy grief

I have cherished

The reminders of

Happy moments brief

And picked upon

The glory of

Many a rising sun

And seen

The cows come home

When it was

Sinking in the horizon

And in the night

The stars

Have played

Hide and seek

With me

And making nice

The moon

Has appeared

On half those nights

Slice by slice

From the valleys

In the mountain

And from the

Shores of the sea

The breeze

And the waves

Keep coming back

To me

Moving on

To keep

Moving on

In directions

Instincts send

With every

Steep and turn

Careful just

To avoid

A dead end

And faster

As I ventured

The trees

Close to me

Barely

Could I see

And the ones

Faraway

Travelled along

With me

Like most

Of man

Known unknown

Upon this earth

Have come

To roam

As each

One of us

Leaves

Home for Home
