I have travelled here before a time

Strange feeling of deja vu

Long ago I was in my prime

As I walk over some fresh dew

My prime, my hope

nested in moons crest

Into life’s inviting lure

like you, I am drawn

The free blowing wind

Seemingly careless

Or is it trying

To whisper its secret

The journey starts

Not at your behest 

Nor does it end 

When laid to rest

Every straw that made the nest

Handpicked together to perfections best

That stood the tempest

Of every wuthering weather

When evening light is flickering dim

And swirling dust is settling down

A slither of that Moon’s rim

Shines like a beacon in nature’s town

Last longer so I don’t burn

I slow down

Not much though

I am a runner by nature

The penchant of a farmhouse road

Of sylvan home and cobblestone

In countryside a dream abode

To see them birds, the miles they‘ve flown

In two minds unable to acquiesce
Each one its own intent
Upon me the burden now to process
In splintered choices reeling stress
A choice that I may someday resent

I tread this road upon my heel

On horseback rode and on a wheel

And every time I traverse its track

It makes me want to come back
